Content Marketing Institute reported on their 2013 B2B Content Marketing Benchmarks, Budgets and Trends-North America study which highlighted the fact that soil media sites were used for content marketing more than ever before. This was confirmed by Marketing Profs.
A staggering 91% of business to business marketers use content marketing strategy to reach their audience and social media plays a big part of that.
Their content distribution is mainly done through social media sites.
Curious to know which sites are used mostly? Check out the chart below.
Pinterest is used by only 26% of marketers and less than 7% for instagram.
So, if you want to get started, know where the “big guns” are. If you are interested in reaching out and connecting with them, that is where you should be. However, if you want to stand out in the crowd from your competitors, you may want to consider entering the less used channels so that you can make a name for yourself.
On the whole, Business to business marketers use only 5 social sites when it comes to distributing their content:
google plus, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Budgets have increased substantially over the last year to spend more attention to these sites with increased involvement.
Remember, business is done with those people that you know, trust and like. What better way to reach out and start business relationships than talking with others on social media. (and finding out what they think and say about you!)
